Empowering Youth through Football

The Sports for Excellence Program is the result of the collective efforts of the Giving for Good Foundation in collaboration with Magic Bus, an international non-profit serving children across countries. The program empowers and enriches the lives of children and young adults who are passionate football players from the J.J. Sawda and Bawana communities in North-West Delhi, India. 

This program aims to nurture their talent and impart valuable life lessons through customized sports training. The goal is to inculcate the lessons learned on the field into their everyday lives, ensuring a bright and promising future for them and their families.

The Sports for Excellence program provides specialized football coaching to selected students for a minimum of three years. This comprehensive program goes beyond sports training and offers additional opportunities for academic education, exchange programs, workshops, and coaching sessions. 

The program ensures equality and autonomy by providing equal opportunities to all the students entering the program. Magic Bus and GfG collectively encourage parents to support their daughters to train and pursue education. The training emphasizes traits such as sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, strategy, time management, and rule-abiding. Additionally, the program takes care of the nutritional needs of the children and conducts fitness tests to monitor their performance.

The highly qualified coaches are passionate individuals who create sportspersons who can further mentor adolescents in their community. As these children complete their minimum training period, a choice of an extension of 2+2 years is offered to them, ensuring they develop employability skills and can contribute positively to their communities and uplift their families.

Over three years, 150 students, including girls and boys, experience holistic development, autonomy, and critical thinking skills through sports coaching and life skills sessions. By promoting equality, discipline, teamwork, and proper nutrition, the program fosters responsible, confident individuals who turn into high-achieving adults.
