Picture yourself as a child on the first day of school, brimming with excitement to meet new friends and embark on the journey of learning to read, write, draw, and colour. Except, there are no books, pencils, and crayons in sight - not even slate and chalk! Now, imagine what it’s like to be a teacher, standing in front of a class without the most basic educational resources. Unfortunately, this is the reality for millions of children studying in rural India. Their potential is enormous, but their education remains incomplete. They go through the education system without acquiring essential reading, writing, and arithmetic skills. As these children grow into adults and step into the world, you can easily imagine the opportunities they miss out on, all because they lacked the necessary resources during their formative years.

Rural India is a reservoir of untapped potential, and every child in those far-reaching corners deserves the chance to dream, learn, and thrive. To truly grasp their circumstances, our team at Giving for Good engaged in heartfelt conversations with hundreds of dedicated school staff members across the nation. ﻿We discovered that their needs align perfectly with our mission – to empower every child with essential school supplies. These supplies include a school bag equipped with educational tools such as books, pencils, crayons, craft materials, math essentials and a water bottle. The best part? We're committed to equity in resources and durability, ensuring a brighter future for children. Each bag will be equipped with high-quality stationery products that you can confidently gift to your child.

Impact

All Indian residents with a valid PAN ID can avail up to 50% tax exemption under section 80G of India’s Income Tax Act by donating to gift school supplies to children in rural Indian schools.
